[原文]
郑人有逃暑于孤林之下者①,日流影移,而徙衽以从阴②.及至暮反席
于树下③,及月流影移,复徙衽以从阴,而患露之濡于身④.其阴逾去,而
其身愈湿.是巧于用昼而拙于用夕.——《苻子》
[注释]
①逃暑：避暑,乘凉.
①孤林——孤树.独立的一棵树.
②徙衽（xǐrén）——移动席子.徙,迁移.衽,席子.
③反——同“返”.
④濡（rú）——沾湿.
有个郑国人怕热,他跑到一棵树荫下去乘凉,太阳在空中移动,树影也在地上移动,他也挪动着自己的卧席随着树荫走.到了黄昏,他又把卧席放到大树底下.月亮在空中移动,树影也在地上移动,他又挪动着卧席随着树影走,因而受到了露水沾湿身子的伤害.树影越移越远了,他的身上也越沾越湿了.这个人白天乘凉的办法很巧妙,但晚上用同样办法乘凉就相当笨拙了....
【说明】这则寓言告诉人们,情况是不断变化的,不能只用老眼光,老办法去解决新问题,不然就会碰壁受灾.
