For the search of producers of anionic surfactants and their mixtures with nonionic surfactants,for elaboration of foaming agent with multi expansion stable foam.
1.Description.
Fire extinguishing foaming agents also known as foam concentrates are concentrated solutions of surfactants.For preparing foam forming solution the initial foam concentrate (foaming agent) is 94-99% diluted with water so that quantity of foaming agent in working mixture tots up to 6% and less.
Capability of forming only low expansion foam or multi expansion one (forming of low,medium and high expansion foam all at once,according to foam generator construction) depends on surfactant molecule structure.
Foaming agents are multicomponent water solutions that consist of one or few kinds of surfactants,additives that provides thermal and hydrostatic stability of foam and its low freezing temperature,corrosion inhibitors and agents that provide compatibility of above mentioned components.
For getting low,medium and high expansion foam with foam generators are used foaming agents on hydrocarbon surfactant basis.These agents provide high foaming capability of water solution.
2.Task.
Choosing of concentrated water solution of anionic surfactant agents on hydrocarbon basis for getting stable low,medium and high expansion foam on GPS 100 (6 atm.) apparatus.
3.Objectives.
3.1 Getting of foaming agent water solution with foam expansion rate not less then 70,stability rate from 1200 and higher on the basis of samples of sodium and triethylamine (possibly triethanolamine) salts of fatty alcohol alkyl sulfate with the length of alkyl C8/10 and C12/C14 from producer (-s)
3.2 Search of sodium (triethylamine,triethanolamine) salts of fatty alcohol alkyl sulfates:
- sodium C12/14 alkyl sulfate
- sodium C8/C10 alkyl sulfate
