1、第一句中的第一个“—and to a global forecaster”是表示什么语气呢,并列吗,为什么这样用?
2、第二句的语法能分析一下吗.（从Errors开始）
3、最后一句的一串of能解释一下吗?since的这个用法是不是可以替换呢?为什么这里要用since?
For small pieces of weather-and to a global forecaster,small can mean thunderstorms and blizzards- any prediction deteriorates rapidly.Errors and uncertainties multiply cascading upward through a chain of turblent features,from dust devils and squalls up to continent-size eddies that only satellites can see.
The modern weather models work with a grid of points of the order of sixty miles apart,and even so,some starting data has to be guessed,since ground stations and satellites cannot see everywhere.
就这些问题,我想法：1、并列的用法,但似乎没有见过.2、问题主要在cascading那部分,是主语吗,后面的upward是谓语?又好像不是,那又是什么句子结构呢.

1.类似“插叙”,老外很喜欢说到半道插点话,新概念里就有很多例子.经常用破折号或逗号与原文隔开.
2.前半句是主句,错误和误差（主语）在一系列扰动因素中（状语）快速出现（谓语）,原句中状语和谓语是反的.
multiply cascading是谓语,upward是状语,拆开是没有意义的,用到一起就是快速出现的意思.
后半句是很长的状语;从小的沙尘和旋风到大规模的风暴,that only satellites can see是定语从句,修饰风暴.
3.a grid of ,固定搭配,一串,一系列
sth of the order of…… ,sth按……的形式
since表原因,可译成“因为”.换成because/for都可以.至于区别,当你对English熟悉到一定程度,自然会知道.
