Emilia Rydberg was born in Sweden on January 25,1978 and is a graduate of the Adolf Frederiks classical music school in Stockholm.Her mother is White (Swedish) and her father is Ethiopian.A Europop singer has enjoyed multi-platinum success in her native Scandinavia.The title track of her debut album Big Bad World was released in September 1998 and in less than two weeks achieved platinum sales,staying on top of the Swedish charts for seven weeks.It also proved hugely successful in Norway,Denmark,Austria,and England.

She was discovered in 1996 by Lars Anderson,son of ABBA manager Stig Anderson,and she is signed to Lars' Rodeo Records label.
